Henry Hudson Capital Campaign

Charles Zabriskie, Jr., National Campaign ChairmanI am proud to report that The Holland Society received commitments of approximately $740,000 to the Henry Hudson Capital Campaign, which came to a close on November 30, 2008. Approximately 125 members and Friends contributed.

As you know, this marks the first time in its history that the Society underwrote a capital campaign. The purpose of the campaign was to meet the expenses and relocation costs, as well as refurbish the new space at 20 West 44 th Street in New York City after more than 26 years in our former location. Still further, it was our intention to raise additional funds to establish an endowment in the name of the Henry Hudson Capital Campaign, which will be used to overcome the increased costs of our leasing agreement in the years ahead. After meeting all the expenses incurred, we will have set aside almost $300,000 when the pledges and commitments have been received in full. I am extraordinarily pleased to report that a very significant proportion of the pledges were made by our Trustees, who clearly have demonstrated their loyalty, commitment, and leadership to The Holland Society.

On behalf of all the Trustees, Branch Presidents, former presidents, and officers, I wish to once again express my sincerest appreciation to every member and Friend for their participation in this historic event.

Respectfully,

Charles Zabriskie, Jr.
National Campaign Chairman
