Membership Announcement: Results of the Special Meeting held on Thursday 10 December, 2015

During the Special Meeting held on Thursday 10 December, 2015, the membership voted in favor of accepting the new Constitution and By-laws. 196 Members voted in favor, 23 Members voted against and 2 Members abstained from voting. Thank you for sending in your votes and thoughts about this important matter. A summary below lists the major approved changes:

• The number of trustees is no longer fixed at 20 but may be a variable number between 12 and 21.
• The number of committees has been reduced from eighteen to nine, often by combining those with related functions.
• Appropriate term limits have been provided by officers and trustees.
• A Vice-President position will ensure continuity of leadership.
• The President will still be elected by our membership at large, but officers of Secretary and
Treasurer will be internally selected by the Board of Trustees.

It has been a number of years since our governing documents have been updated to help us most efficiently fulfill our mission. These revisions will help us conform to actual practice, update antiquated language, and support effective governance procedures.
