SCHOLARLY LECTURES RETURN

The Holland Society of New York is pleased to present, in conjunction with the New Netherland Museum, an outstanding presentation by Eduard van Breen, Hendricks Research Fellow at the New Netherland Museum. The presentation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at The Holland Society’s executive offices, 20 West 44th Street, Suite 509, New York, New York, which is just off Fifth Avenue. The presentation begins at 6:00 p.m., and at its conclusion a wine and cheese reception awaits our guests. As President of The Holland Society I am pleased and honored to have Eduard van Breen as our guest. I know that you will enjoy this special evening, which should conclude at about 7:30 pm.

New England Branch Teams up with Ulster County and Connecticut-Westchester to Greet and Celebrate the Arrival of the Half Moon on Sunday, October 17, 2010

Captain Chip Reynolds of The Holland Society's flagship, the Half Moon , staged an open house before more than fifty excited and fun-loving members of the three branches on the shores of the Connecticut River in East Hartford . Greeted by a marvelous fall day the members enjoyed Captain Reynolds' narrative as to the importance of the history of the early Dutch settlers, the maritime trade, and the use of America 's waterways by ships.

A wine and cheese reception was enjoyed by all at which time a number of new acquaintances were generated with members from the three branches. There was much fellowship and joy with each of the families in attendance, some of whom were accompanied by their children who are now young adults.

The picture above represents some of the members and guests in attendance along with volunteer members of the crew.
