Outline of Obligation and Fee Schedule
In accordance with its constitution, The Holland Society
is obligated to collect and preserve information respecting the
early history and settlement of New Netherland by collecting an
appropriate library, publishing newly discovered materials and honoring
the memory, principles, and virtues of the pioneer families who
settled New Netherland in the seventeenth century.
- Member's efforts help support:

- Publication of the Society's esteemed historical
quarterly magazine, de Halve Maen.
- Scholarships for research into the early history
of New Netherland.
- Continuous acquisition program for the Society's
7000 plus volume library, located at 122 East 58th Street,
New York, NY 10022.
- Publication of previously unpublished records of
the earliest chuches in New Netherland, an invaluable service
for tracing ancestors.
- Availability of the Society's research library to
both members and nonmembers with the service of a professional
librarian.
- Translation and publication of official records
of new Netherland from "Old Dutch," as they are located.
- The office staff to administer the tasks related
to the above and the general operation of the Society with
its nation-wide membership and branch program.
- Meetings to which all members are invited:

- The Annual Meeting and election of officers on April
6th.
- The Memrorial Church Service in the Spring.
- The Annual Banquet, held in the Fall, at which the
Society awards its medal to a distinguished citizen of either
the Netherlands or the United States.
- The Annual Burgher Guard Dinner sponsored by the
"Burgher Guard," the young members of The Holland Society.
- Membership Costs:
- There is a one-time admission fee of $15.00 plus annual
dues of $20.00 for members aged 18 through 29 and $60.00 for
members 30 and over. Life memberships is available for $400.00
from age 0 to 10, $500.00 for age 11 through 14, $600 from age
15 through 17, $750.00 from age 18 through 64, $500.00 from
age 65 through age 74, and $250.00 from age 75 and over. There
are no advance obligations of fees until the applicant is duly
elected by the Board of Trustees.
