In early 2009, noted Dutch photographer Geert Snoeijer contacted Trustee Bromme H. Cole about an idea he had to photograph the men of the Holland Society in an "Old Master" style. After some discussion about timing arrangements were made during various Trustee's meetings, the Annual Dinner and Banquet for Geert to take a portrait of those members so interested. The photographer was fastidious, with each portrait taking up to an hour and a half....no detail was too small....sometimes Geert would take up to 50 pictures in a session just to get the perfect expression! The pictures you see here were first displayed in December 2009 at City Hall in Amsterdam; six HSNY members traveled to Holland to witness this unveiling! Subsequently, the photos were hung at Amsterdam's World Trade Center where they remain until May 1, 2010. Please use the link below to view the twenty-three portraits.
